What is Leadership Council?
The Leadership Council consists of co-curricular and curricular programs designed to prepare incoming first-year(including transfer) SIUC students for effective leadership. A comprehensive approach to this leadership development will include striving to engage students in thoughtful and deliberate reflections on how the choices they make and the actions they take impact themselves, the organizations which they lead, and the communities in which they live. The Leadership Council will provide programs, services, and resources to encourage students to recognize themselves as leaders, increase their understanding of the processes of leadership, and develop and practice their skills in the realm of campus community activities.

How can I apply?
All incoming first year students are encouraged to apply for membership in Leadership Council. Each spring 50 students are selected based on their cumulative GPA, ACT scores, and previous involvement experience. You may download an application for Leadership Council on the navigation bar to the right. The application deadline is May 1st.
